about 2 years ago – Wed, Mar 30, 2022 at 03:03:00 PM

Hey everyone! Title says it all!

There has been a lot of demand for reprints of the first book's deluxe variant cover. I'm happy to announce that they're now available once again as add-ons. Thank you for your support, and for letting me know that this was an in-demand item!

Also! Wow! We hit that 750k stretch goal! I'm so excited to offer these curated playlists for each book's setting. These will be available as downloads, but also as easily-reachable Spotify playlists for you to quickly reach through your phone or computer!

The next stretch goal is only 125k away, and includes an illustrated bestiary of various griffons from across the multiverse. These griffons may have been influenced by elemental forces, or have adapted in unique ways to survive in these strange and foreign landscapes. All orders that receive the PDF will also get a copy of this, whether your PDF is an add-on or a a part of your backer tier!

I'm still getting quotes on those empty card boxes for those of you looking to sleeve your cards or simply looking for a matching box for the Book One cards. I'll be sure to update you here when I can about them!

Until next time: keep on adventuring, and thank you for your awesome support!

Past 600k? It's time for the secret stretch goal announcement! Also, bonus size comparison of the leatherette backpack.
about 2 years ago – Tue, Mar 29, 2022 at 03:29:37 AM

Hey everyone!

Now that we're past the 600k mark (wow!!), I can announce the Secret Stretch Goal that I've mentioned in a few of my replies to your comments:

At 663k (the amount of funding from the first book), all backers that get the PDF will also get a Ledger+ code for Book Two.

This was a beloved stretch goal from the first Kickstarter campaign, and I'm happy to bring it back for this next one.

If you already added a code as an add-on, thank you! No hard feelings if you remove it or swap it out for something else. The Ledger+ is a great system, and I want to make sure that as many of you as possible are able to make the most of your digital and physical copies of the book. These are also great to share with your fellow players or GM friends, so if you have extra, share them! The more, the merrier.

Oh! I also got this (very short) bonus video from the backpack manufacturers. This is a paper demo, obviously, but you can see the size of this bag! It's going to be really great. If this looks like something you'd want to pack your game's gear in, be sure to snag yours as an add-on at the Kickstarter-exclusive price!

That's all for now! Until next time, keep on adventuring!

You get a code! And you get a code! Everyone that receives a PDF now gets a bonus Ledger+ Access Code! PLUS: Retailer tier is now available for FLGS owners!
about 2 years ago – Mon, Mar 28, 2022 at 07:47:42 PM

Hey everyone!

Thank you all so much for smashing through the secret stretch goal and surpassing the first campaign's funding! You're helping to propel this campaign forward all the time, and I can't properly express how truly grateful I am for it.

So because we reached that stretch goal, if you get a PDF, either as an add-on or as part or your backer tier, you also get a bonus Ledger + Book Two Access Code. These can be added onto existing or new L+ accounts (which take less than 30 seconds to set up), and are designed to be passed around to players at your table. Everyone should be able to make the most of the Saddlebag library, and the Ledger+ is a great way to do it.

So our next goal is all the more close now! At 750k, we'll unlock musical playlists for each of the 14 settings in the book. They'll be visitable by direct (short) URL or scannable through a phone. You'll be able to download these to use in your preferred music player, or available as Spotify playlists. These are made possible by Will Savino of Music d20, who's a great creator and friend of the Saddlebag. I'm sure you're going to love what this music brings to your table!

Retailer Tier now available

I've also just added the Retailer tier! If you're a FLGS owner, you can email me at [email protected] to confirm your physical location when you select this tier! You'll get big discounts on bulk buying options in Backerkit once the campaign ends next month! Thank you all for your patience with me while I added this tier for you!

That's all for now! Until next time, keep on adventuring!

Funded! Plus, a new add-on for legacy buyers
about 2 years ago – Thu, Mar 24, 2022 at 05:20:24 AM

Well, I think it's safe to say that this has been a pretty wild two hours.

First of all, thank you all so much for your incredible support and enthusiasm. It's been incredible to see you all either for the first time or, if you were here two years ago, for a second.

Speaking of which, it came to my attention (and inbox) that there wasn't a Book One bundle available in the add-ons. To those of you who messaged me about it, thank you!

I've gone ahead and added a new add-on— LEGACY: Book One bundle. This bundle will include both the standard edition of the first book and the PDF. The PDF will go out after the campaign ends and I can get into Backerkit for pledge management.

However, I can't edit older add-ons, so let this be a notice that if you buy one of the last few remaining deluxe copies of the first book, you'll also get a PDF. The add-on doesn't (and can't) say that, but know that it's coming to you all the same.

Thank you all again, so much, for coming with me on this journey again! Keep on adventuring, and we'll talk more soon!

On the road to 500k! What's the GM screen like? PLUS, first look at the backpack in production.
about 2 years ago – Thu, Mar 24, 2022 at 05:18:42 AM

Hey everyone!

Thank you all so much for the amazing support so far. It's been incredible to see the outpouring of support and interest for this next compendium. I hope you've been excited about the add-ons as well!

For add-ons, we're approaching that next stretch goal at 500k! At that point, I'll make the GM screen option available. I need a confirmation from my manufacturer about a certain design element I want to include for the interior (GM side), but at the very least, you can see the planned design for the exterior:

(artistic render)

If all goes well and I can confirm my plans for the inside, I'll share those as soon as possible, too. While I work weekends, the rest of the world doesn't, so we'll likely need to wait for Monday at the earliest to get the yes or no on it. Hang tight!

What is confirmed, though, and in progress, are the leatherette backpacks. Let me show you these product shots I got from the manufacturer just last night. This is the first round of prototypes, so it's only going to get better and better from here!

Work in Progress (WIP) — view of the bag front.
WIP — view of the bag back (with engineering marks)
WIP — View of the side (missing the side pockets at this stage)

You can see how progress is going well here! You should also be able to see how these bags can be worn as messenger bags and traditional backpacks. This stage is getting the build right, so it doesn't have the applique or embroidery details in yet.

It's going great. I know you're going to love these bags.

Before you go

My friends at LoreSmyth launched their Kickstarter for their book Remarkable Guilds & Their Heroes recently, too. If you're interested in any of the guilds and factions introduced in The Griffon's Saddlebag: Book Two (as seen in the banner and bookmark add-on options!), you're for sure going to like what LoreSmyth's book has to offer! Their new GM sourcebook (the fourth in the series) gives you a deep dive into ten new guilds and their supporters, plus items, maps, quests, and more. Check it out here!
